Recent Crowne Plaza Downtown Review: "great waking location near sharks stadium, restaurants and pubs. Very clean and boutique-like rooms. Lots of space. Staff was very friendly and helpful giving suggestions on where to go with a map even! We would definately come here again and encourage you to try it! Cheaper than other hotels across the way but high quality nonetheless."

| A good hotel for the money. Cool loby, and nice rooms. Bathrooms where a little small though, but nice. The A/C, heater was a little loud when my girlfriend turnd it on for the first time but it quite down after some time. Overall great hotel for the money. |

| The hotel itself was lovely and modern. The rooms were lovely and comfy. My main complaint is simply that the hotel is very close to the airport, but they offer no shuttle service. Taking a taxi for even such a short distance is a minimum of $20. Additionally, I had called the morning of my reservation to make sure that I could get to the airport on time. The attendant assured me that he would reserve a taxi. I checked on the reservation when I checked into the hotel and found that the reservation had not been made. The attendant assured me that he would reserve a taxi for me. Finally, when I went down to the lobby to catch my taxi, the taxi had still never been reserved - they had to call one on the spot, and luckily it came in time. |

| Not too much into art-deco but great and clean for the money and convenient walks to all downtown events. In the price range i expected to pay.

| The television was broken in my room and made a horrific buzzing sound. It was rather difficult to get through to the front desk most of the time. The hotel restaurant was of poor quality and their beer was awful with a bit of a metallic taste (I think they needed to clean their lines). And it has some horrid 70s motif that doesn't seem to fit in well. The parking fee is a bit ridiculous as well.
Not a terrible hotel if you're looking for a mediocre hotel, but honestly I expected a bit more from a Crowne plaza. |

| I'm local to the area but needed a place close to the Family Law Court because I would be in and out all day. This hotel was perfect because it was competitively priced and literally two buildings over from the courthouse.
Good:
~ Pleasant staff who greeted with a smile and nod as I came and went but were not annoying because they did not try to make small talk.
~ Perfect location for my needs.
~ Within walking distance to restaurants and local transportation.
~ Updated, clean and with a contemporary chic decor.
Bad:
~ Walls were a bit thin, I could hear the people next door on a conference call through the vent in the bathroom as if they were in the same room.
~ Parking was $18 per night, though there were in and out privileges.
~ I had two children with me but the on site restaurant did not have kids menus so I was forced to purchase the larger adult meals for them.
~ Internet was $9.95 per 24 hour period.
~ Couldn't adjust the room temperature manually, it was fixed at a constant 72 degrees F.
~ There were only 3 bath towels and 4 people in one room.
Fixes:
~ I did get reimbursed for the internet charges because I am a Priority Club member. Do sign up if you are not already one and plan to stay at this family of hotel brand.
~ I complained about the lack of kids menu in their restaurant upon check out and the front desk removed the parking charges. This was a very nice concession and show of good will on the hotel's part.
~ Once the complaint was lodged about the fixed temperature, maintenance came up right away and removed the lock on the thermostat.
~ I asked for additional towels and they were brought up by housekeeping right away.
This hotel is not the best I've stayed in but was well matched for the price I paid. Any issues were seen to immediately and any wrongs were made right. I would definitely stay here again and was pleased with our stay. Inferior hotels would've just grunted upon guest complaints and not have done a thing about it. |
