Recent Howard Johnson Express Review: "I enjoyed the HoJo very much. It was a great rate for the two nights I stayed and I actually left wishing I could stay longer! Their breakfast was delicious and started very early at 6am, which was convenient because I had a function to attend at 8:30 that morning. I felt safe at night and was very pleased with the air-conditioner/heater in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful; when I needed directions to a food store, the morning lady directed me to a nearby convenience store (very reasonably priced for all its variety)! Recommend!"

| I know I paid a low price and you get what you paid for but the staff was ridiculously rude. I called to ask for a cab and she blurted out the number and hung up. I had to call her back to get it again. When I called about the wifi not working she said "It's working down here". She wouldn't reset the modem or anything of help either. When we went down to get breakfast, the breakfast was gone early. She didn't say a thing. Not even "hello" or "sorry ladies, the breakfast is gone already". I have no idea how they cleaned it up so early because breakfast was supposed to be over at 10am and when we went down at 9:58am, nothing was left. There was no juice left, not muffins, no bagels, nothing at all! No remnants of a breakfast ever being there. It's less than a mile from the HP Pavilion and not in a bad area so if you're on a budget or last minute reserving, take it. But if you have other choices, go elsewhere. I'll never stay there again. OH! And I got a throat and ear infection from the dust in the room. So they're not as clean as could be I'm assuming. |

| very decent hotel for the area of san jose and the price. the free breakfast is fresh and they serve fresh bagels, boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, fresh fruit .... plus the staff was really helpful when i had a stranger try to get into my room. the biggest problem with the hotel is that the wifi bounces erratically, causing massive interruptions in my internet work (looking for a job, i need internet!). in fact i had to take this survey three times because the wifi kept going down :( but my main problem was that the price kept changing on your website and the motel eventually dropped you guys, which ended up costing me an extra $15 per day and forced me to book the last 3 night on their website. now they are back on your site, but your price is still $3 more than the competition. this is frustrating because we knew we needed a couple of weeks here and that difference really adds up. |

| It wasn't the Ritz and I didn't expect it. It was however, a very clean and nice hotel. The staff was friendly and the price was great for being close to down town San Jose! I would definetly recommend this hotel and or stay there again. |

| The Hotel overall was very nice. However we did ask for a non smokng room due to allergies and the room we were given smelled so bad of smoke. But that is really my only complaint. The customer service was awesome and the bed was very comfortable. |

| IT WAS VERY CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN SAN JOSE AND THE CONVENTION CENTER. FRONT DESK STAFF WAS VERY NICE AND CHECK IN WAS A SNAP. BUT THE ROOM HAD CRACKS IN TILES,PAINT,AND FLOOR BOARDS. THE DECOR DIDN'T MATCH AT ALL ALMOST AS IF IT WAS DECORATED IN THE DARK. PRINT WALLPAPER,FLORAL BED SPREADS, AND GEOMETRIC CARPETING. |

| This hotel is about 3 minute from the convention center and was abou one third the price of the hotels at the convention center. It was clean and quiet and had reasonable amenities. Not fancy, but adequate. |
