Recent Sainte Claire Collection Review: "Just returned from my trip where I stayed here. I was there on business, and had to work the graveyard shift, usually from 10 pm - 8 am. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to sleep well during the day, but that was not the case. The room was very comfortable, and the A/C was great, although I set it too low. I was able to get some peaceful sleep with very little noise from the street below.
I was pretty impressed with the 3 different types of pillows they put on the bed for you, along with a chart describing each. Finding the right pillow is one of my pet peeves, but their pillow selection was excellent. I slept like a rock, so much so that I didn't hear the alarm as it had been going off for 45 mins. The pillow top mattress was perfect, the free WiFi was also a plus, and the food from the restaurant was unbelievable.
I had the lobster ravioli one night and the Zucca Tortellini; both amazing! The bartender was extremely friendly, and had no problem wrapping my food to go so I could eat at work. Oh yeah, the tiramisu was awesome as well; had it 2 nights in a row.

Centrally located in downtown San Jose, you can't stay at a better place and have all the charm. One thing you may want to do is park across the street in the public parking garage on the side of the hotel. Not that the price was the issue, but they only had 2 guys running cars back & forth, which I think they ended up using the parking garage anyways. I just had to wait too long to get my car when I was in a rush. Much faster to just go get it myself!

| A pleasure to stay in this hotel. The staff was great and called up to the room after we had checked in to make sure everything was ok and to see if we needed anything. The only downfall was that since the hotel is a landmark, it is quite old and the tub ceramic was cracking and unfortunately not well maintained. Still worth the experience of staying there. |

| I ordered a pot of coffee and was given a cup, was not given any cream and was not given a spoon for my oatmeal. By the time I got the cream and the spoon my food was cold. |

| There were carpet stains in the hallway. Mold on the tile in the bathroom. Very small rooms. A little difficult to move around in. Staff was very friendly though the concierge was not at the desk when we went to ask a question. |

| If you would like to be in hub of downtown on San Jose - especially on the weekend - Sainte Claire is the place to stay.
The only deficiency is lack of a parking facility. |

| The Sainte Claire was the perfect hotel for our quick trip to San Jose with my two girls for a Miley Cyrus concert. The front desk staff was quick and friendly in checking us in. The room was beautifull and we loved the feather topped beds and all the pillows. We chose this hotel for its location to the HP Pavilion and for Il Fornaio. Our dinner was wonderful and the waiter doted on the girls. We walked to the concert and back with ease. Back in the room we settled in for a very comfortable nights sleep. Overall we could not have chosen a better location. We even took advantage of the valet parking which brought our car around at 6am when we needed to leave the next morning. We will definately stay here again next time. |

| Lovely hotel ideally situated in downtown San Jose. Standard of service was excellent and everyone was very helpful. Valet parking very reasonable. The Italian Restaurant on the ground floor, although not officially part of the hotel, integrates well and they even allow you to charge to your room if you want. I recommend the Eggs Benedict for breakfast. We had a lovely room overlooking the park. The only slight annoyance was the constant clanging of the tram bells and the train like clatter as they made their way along their tracks in front of the hotel throughout the night. But I suppose that's all part of the local ambience. Close to excellent cafe's, bistros and restaurants. Highly recommended. |

| I actually rented 2 rooms, one for my parents and myself. very comfy! painted ceilings had a nice touch.
I would like to mention, My husband and I were startled by the sound of the door knob click (the room was so quiet, the click was very clear)it was the closet door. we sat up and watched the door gradually open on its own....In dis belief, we looked @ eachother and then focusing back to the closet. I turned the light on immediately and my husband got up to check it out. We did not use the closet and it was closed completely before we laid down. He closed it and tried to pull on it and as we expected, it remained closed. I slept with the light on after!!! |

| Very clean and helpful staff that did whatever they could to make our stay a pleasant as possible. The area nearby is clean and inviting with plenty to do. We came for a concert at the HP pavillion and were very comfortable walking back to the hotel. The restaurant next door Original Joe's was great with service and quality good enough to come back. I would recomend this for anyone coming to the area as it delivered more comfort and conveince than we expected for the money. |
